Married, we have one daughter so far. I ran for Alta high school and was trained by Rob Murphy, he is a great coach, one of the best there is. I also ran for Southern Utah University.

I ran city creek canyon with Coach Murphy, it was a lot of fun and I was really grateful to get on last run with him before my mission, he's an amazing coach and I've learned so much from him! City creek was a really beautiful trail, it was cool and there was a lot of shade. Murphy also showed me memorials to Utahs veterans and war heroes, including my great uncle Mervyn Sharpe Bennion who received the medal of honor, that was really cool! On the way back, about a minute after Murphy warned me about hurting my ankle, I sprained my ankle. Its a pretty bad sprain, I had to walk another mile back to the road while Murphy ran back to get his car, that was a pretty long mile, I kept wanting to stop because it was pretty painful to walk on, but I figured the faster I got back the sooner it would be over. After that I went to Coach Murphys house and he got me some ice and food, then he took me to the hospital my dad works at, my dad checked out my foot and said it was really loose, I think it will be ok though. I have an appointment at 4:15 so I will get an xray and see if its ok. We will have to do this run again when I get back and do it without a sprained ankle haha. Hopefully by Thursday or Friday I can try to run a few miles, my hopes for the MTC mile record have taken a hit, but I'm still hoping. I will make one last post after my appointment.

Sorry to hear about your ankle. Take good care of it.

City Creek is a fun place to run. I usually run there early in the morning before the sun comes up. I run into a lot of mountain lions, coyotes, a moose every once in awhile, etc.

In the day time there are also quite a few rattlesnakes.

It is amazing how much wildlife is up there.

City Creek was my school's XC course when I was in high school, and I have loved running there every since then.

I usually stay on the road though.

Have a fun 2 years Blake.

Blake, just wanted to wish you the best of luck before you left and thanks for being such a great friend the past two years, you're going to do great things! I'm sorry you're hurt, but you'll still do great things at SUU.

Thank you both! Mark that is so awesome, that must have made for some great high school experiences. Thank you for all the advice and support you've been giving me, its helped a lot! Conner, thank you so much for being great runner and person you are, you're hard work, dedication, and passion for running inspires me to do better. I'm excited to see you brighten the lives of those in your mission and I know you're going to do so amazing at BYU. Good luck!
